Has anyone driven the new Focus RS yet ? I had a go in a Civic Type R and was dissapointed to get wheelspin everywhere. I know this is whats to be expected of a front wheel drivew car with over 200 bhp but ford have a new " quaife Differential "thingy !!! Just wondered if Its a gimmick and doesnt work hence loadsa wheelspin or its a viable front wheel drive option ????

Its a limited slip diff. Sounds like you need traction control!

Power is limited in first and second in the Focus, I had a T5 which had the full 225 thru 2 * 205/50/ZR16 which was wheelspin city if you were daft, otherwise use your driving skills to modultate wheelspin !

Thios is why a lot of Scoob drivers crash when going back to 2wd, come to think of it a lot run out of talent with 4wd,Subaru, bring on the 6wd Impreza.

The Focus RS has T/C so hopefully it has no wheelspin (unless you turn the T/C off ;))

FRS has no traction control.
must admit, I would rather have one than my Scoob.

Knew a local chap who had a Rover Coupe runing the same sort of BHP. He told me that he had to be VERY carful when going across wet man hole covers. The LSD would "Slam" the steering all over the place!
