To all my friends on Scoobynet,

Jackie and I have decided to split up after 14 odd years of marriage ! We've done this on the best of terms and still intend to remain friends.

I'm not going to go into too much detail on such a public forum but just to say we want different things from our lives and both deserve to be happier than we have been for the last couple of years.

I know about the party that has been organised as a surprise for my birthday. We talked about it, but came to the conclusion that the best policy was to be up front and honest and we we're not sure if we could carry on putting on a front for another week or so and what the reaction would have been afterwards. So, we are having to cancel this event. I'm extreemly lucky to have friends like some I have met through organising the local SIDC events.

Speak to you all soon.

Steve.

Yeah mate, been there, done that - after 12 great years, in my case. Definitely a plus point to keep things amicable. But looking back after a decade, that's the only thing I'd change about my experience, otherwise it was definitely for the best. I hope yours is too.

wilf 31 October 2002 12:58 PM
