Last time with my WRX 01 PPP with an STI intercooler i got 247 BHP @ 6000 rpm and 247 lbft @ 4000 rpm.

Then I removed the cats, added a wastegate and a dumpvalve and I got 275 bhp@ 6000 rpm and 273 lbft @ 4500 rpm. The problem Mervyn was concerned about was the complete lack of power below 4500 rpm and then a boost spike @ 1.6 bars!

Checked the restrictor and found out that Subaru had inserted the new restrictor from Prodrive but forgot to remove the previous one. Secondly the actuator has been recalibrated with a stronger resistance to opening.

Finally I got 269 bhp @6000 269lbft from 3000 to 4000 rpm with a more consevative 1.3 bars pike and 1.1/1.2 semi constant. The power delivery is simply perfect.
