I have been using this nice program for 2 years. When Krade saw it he told me that i should definatelly put it on a topic in scoobynet for people to download it. Well.... here it is. You won't regret it!!! And please tell me your opinions
CARTEST |
gizza clue then - i dont run just any old exe...

It's a DOS-BASED PROGRAM that simulates the input of the car that you choose or the car that you add, and gives you lateral, vertical G's, acceleration times, power losses etc. Believe it's worth it.

Its a niffty porg guys, its safe as I have downloaded it ok no probs.
Heres the Set up screen with my cars figures although the weight was for an STI5 and the the tyres specs were the ones for the STI 5 again. I didnt have all the info I needed. http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...1047852169.jpg Next is the standing start launch dumping the clutch with the red line set to 7000 rpm. The display plays out the standing start thru the gears and produces the accel curve. http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...1047237462.jpg Heres the same but sliping the clutch. http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...2014613399.jpg Here is the optimal Launch to 60mph with gear shifts etc. http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...1047175834.jpg THis litle prog is a great find. Especvially if you know what you are doing with it. As there are loads of parameters to play around with. Air temp Tyres sizes and on and on and on. |
heres the original web site for any one whose dubious.

Standing start seems to be a little out, but the maximum gear change speeds seem reasonable
I've entered the details for the STI 7 type UK if any one wants them. Nice one |
Yes please ... : )
I got everything except the drag coefficient and the front/rear weight distribution. Cheers |
Bret
Drag is 0.28 weight is 55% front |

I use this all the time, it's a pretty nifty guide, although not 100% accurate (it assumes ideal conditions!)
If you have the dyno chart for your car, you can add the correct (-ish) power curve for your car, rather than letting the program guess it from your max hp and torque figures. [Edited by NotoriousREV - 10/27/2002 12:27:05 PM] |

Says I should top out at 170mph in 14558ft in my stock 2.5 RS??? I've had it at 5500rpm in 5th gear, the speedo was straight down. According to the app, i was doing 140mph.
