Does anyone know anything about these engines? My dad has the 406 HDI with the 110 bhp diesel engine but I have been told it is not a turbo charged diesel  It certainly feels like one when you drive it.

Thanks in advance
Paul :)

Thats what I though  When I boot my dads car it takes off and you can hear it whistle but my stupid sister reckons its not a turbo diesel  just because she drives the old 306 diesel and they are different motors  Is there any proper websites that give you details of these engines? I did a quick search on peugeot and hdi but they don't give much away :( I must prove the silly cow wrong :D

Very quickly for you

Old 1.9 diesels, (1905 or 1868 cc) came in both turbo and non-turbo forms.

New 2.0 HDI engines (1997/8 cc) all have turbochargers fitted. The difference between the 90bhp and 110bhp engines is that the 110bhp engine has an intercooler also.

 I just went outside to look at my dads car and it has a very nice looking front mounted intercooler next to the radiator  (wonder if that would be better off in my integrale :D) but with all the covers etc you can't see down the back of the engine to where the turbo should be :( The internet search on google is telling me how good they are on fuel etc but thats not I want to know The car certainly goes well and is very very impressive to drive :)

Thanks for your help :)
Anyone got any links please?

Paul :)
