MY99, New clutch fitted about 5k ago. No judder problems initially and now 5k on, juddering like a juddery thing when cold.

Is this down to lower temps up here with the winter onslaught?

I thought juddery clutches juddered from new and didn't start later on??????

PS Car (coincidentally I'm sure) had a 7,500 mile service on Saturday and it started happening just after that hmmmmmm!

Any ideas....:)

MY00 EXACTLY THE SAME HAD CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL FITTED
UNDER WARRANTY 4K ON THE SAME, ONLY WHEN COLD.A COUPLE
OF FLYING STARTS TAKES IT AWAY FOR A WHILE. FUNNY
WHEN HOT NO PROBLEMS.

This is something that I've noticed happens with every car I've ever had. You take it in for routine maintenance and it comes out not feeling right or with something totally wrong with it [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] Joke! Try a lauch to clear it, sometime helps I believe :)

Only clears it in the short term before it returns though....

Just seems weird that it was ok for 5k miles then miraculously judders straight after a service!

The two must be coincidental BUT it gets you wondering!

Yeah, I've got a similar clutch judder problem - catch too low revs when cold, and a small earthquake rumbles through the car.

By the time it gets to the garage, it's always too warm to demo it to them...

Grr...

Take it back to them mate and state that it was fine before hand. You only recently paid £1600 to get that clutch and box sorted so you'd expect for that money a clutch that would hold out.

Phone them back and say it shouldn't start at all, period and that they should sort it!!

SiPie - I have read before that clutch judder especially when cold is a "feature" of Scoobs... sorry.

Although, I was under the impression that they would judder from when they were fitted and not 5000 miles after [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Was just a bit gutted after finally getting gearbox and clutch replaced, all goes smooth after getting niggles sorted out, then it starts juddering like hell :rolleyes:

STi7 , has had cold clutch judder since new?? both in summer and winter.

Previous MY99 = Started judders when cold after 12,000 miles and continued when cold right up to me selling it at 37,000. Curiously was worse when car left outside in cold damp overnight and not in garage. I learned to live with it because after 5/6 miles it always disappeared. My brothers Rover 200Vi did exactly the same too when he had it.

Current MY02 = Slight trace of judder the other week when car stood out all day in rain. Nothing since at 9500 miles :)

thats a shame then,
my RB5 suffers badly from cold and i was under the impression that a new clutch/flywheel would cure it.
may aswell just put up with looking like i cant set off properly :rolleyes:
