Any thoughts on how I can improve the grip on the steering wheel of an STi7 type UK?
The friction seems so low that I find myself gripping the wheel too hard all the time, even on light driving. I'm toying with the idea of something like a tennis racquet grip type material? |
Try wearing gloves!
I wear my mountaining biking gloves on trackdays. Lots of grip if you get sweaty palms like I do and it feels really nice! ;) Mark |
Hadn't even thought of that!
Might give it a try, especially with winter rolling in :) |
and dont forget the tweed hat and coat Barnaby :-)
Maybe try some of the tape they use on tennis racquets, my old man used it on his tractor and it worked great. |
The tennis racquet grip idea does appeal to me, although it might look a bit silly ;)
Can't believe they fitted a steering wheel with such bad grip! |
Barnaby,
might be worth asking your insurance company about grips because I know in Australia if they think an accident might have been caused by a loose grip they can refuse payment! |
Hadn't thought of that, I guess it is a 'modification' of sorts.
Bloody insurance, I'm sure they are supposed to be on our sides not trying to catch us out :( |
Why don't you put one of those forklift wheels on it. :D
|
Insurance companies on our side, not trying to catch us out?
Bwaaa haaa haaa haaa haaa haaa! File under "Jokes, not very good ones". Alcazar |
I know, I know. Sometimes I can be a bit of a wishful thinker ;)
Seems you have to fight the insurance companies, dealers, police and government if you want to drive a decent car. I'm going to try the tape idea anyway :) |
