Used to have one about two years ago and it was a dog!! The car when running properly was fantastic - very quick on the straights and twisties. The problem was that it was a grey import and the dealer in Northumberland wasn't interested in repairing the clutch and diff which both went after about two months.
Great car but you need an A1 inspection and solid warranty as they are expensive to repair. |

If your looking for information about the E4 and what to look out for then pop along to the Mitsubishi Lancer Register (MLR) at lancerregister.com |
Cheers for the reply's everyone:)
Gonna check out the lancer register. Looked at a site the other day and it only had EVO 5 upwards?! Why would this be? Is the 4 a non Proton bodyshell? or is it actually 5's up that are? http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/rollsmile.gif |
Nope 4's dont have that manky proton shell, i saw a 4 the other day done up and looked bang on a evo 6, it was quite amazing, the owner informed me that all the body parts from a 4/5/6 are all interchangable!!

The 4 has the same shell & basic driveline as the 5/6, but does not have the wheelarch & sill extensions, wider front/rear bumpers and larger headlights of the 5/6. I believe the later variations also have stronger hub assemblies and longer shafts to accomodate the wide track. Although as Mozza says the parts can be probably interchanged, at a price. IMO the 4 makes the best Q car of them all, especially in grey/blue metallic. Wouldn't swap the Scoob for one though.
