OK, OK, stupid question I know, but I'd still like the answer.

Someone I know has a partner that has a 328i and she thinks this makes her queen or summit.

I'm curious to know if the wagon (WRX or UK normal) will blow the 328i away.

I'm fed up with her attitude of 'my partner has got a BMW, which is faster than your car, which means it is better than your car and therefore *I* am better than you!'

I know this is silly, but just once I'd love to be able to wipe the smile of the buggers face by saying, and proving, that the BMW does not rule the roost!

BTW - the geezer who actually owns the car is a decent bloke, he's very down to earth, it's just his partner who's a real git!

Point-to-point you would need to enjoy a BMW M Coupe, M3 or M5 to stay with a Scoob....and then it would be down to the driver.

This reminds me of a very old advert (showing my age), a full page broadsheet advert stating in big headlines '2CV Faster than a Ferrari'.

It then said in small writing that a 2CV driving at its maximum speed of 68mph would comfortably pass a Ferrari travelling at 60mph.

So, it's all down to how it's being driven http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

How did you get the AutoCar stats?

Markus 14 February 2000 03:01 PM

Blimey! well fast answers! Thanks to all of you!

You're right about it being down to the driver.

But to be honest the partner of the geezer will be somewhat miffed when a 'cheap jap mobile' beats the mighty beemer!!! Might shut her up for a while. Even bigger humbling might be when she finds out that my girlfriend will be insured for the scooby and there is no way the bmw owner would let his partner drive the beemer!

I owned a 328 and a Scooby at the same time. For speed and mid range there is only one winner. The Scooby.

To arrive at the meeting feeling fresh there is only one winner 328.

Any bets that the 328 is a company car and the scoob is private owned ?

Can't really see that there's any argument; if you can't drive the car, you can't see what the fuss is about.
A better course of action might be 'to avoid all this horseness' and ignore her.

some people just fall into stereotypes.......

greif:
Nope, BMW is privatley owned.

I do try to ignore the woman, but she's a friend of my girlfriend, so it's a bit hard.

Most of the time she is OK, and we get on well, it's when she goes into her 'anabelle' mode that it gets me.

The sterotype is very true for her, but not for the geezer who owns the car, a very nice chap indeed!

WigWam 14 February 2000 06:21 PM

Sounds like she`s substituting cars for certain parts of male anatomy.

Has he got a small one?

IDRIS 14 February 2000 07:37 PM

Listen Markus,

Show this friend a couple of magazines to show her some figures. If she still doesn't follow by then, just go with the flow.

'anabelle mode'???

*IDRIS*
(Haven't come across an anabelle. YET!)
See Ya!
