Cheers Si |
If you can live with the price go for a 'Dry Cell' Optima 'yellow top' or 'red top'
They can take serious abuse and recharge much quicker than a standard battery. Oh & your system may sound better as well. Trouble is they are around £100 to £130 Iain |
 ouch wots difference between red & yella then & any tips 4 good deals from anywhere?
Ta Si |
for a normal wet cell battery Hopek(sp) are pritty good 2 year garentie i think??
|
we sell loads of VARTA and BOSCH batteries (O.E. quality)
not as expensive as you'd think (well not with our deal anyway!!) pity, you're not local as i think the courier would have a fit!!! alyn - as performance |

Still considering the EVO. Still doing research on the car.
I'll keep the meet in mind. |
Go for the optima. I have an optima yellow one as i have quite a few subs and not i have changed my battery to optima, my lights dont dim!
|
So yellow over red wot if any is difference?

My 98MY battery failed last week despite a 120 mile run that day, I guess when a battery has had enough then that's it. It is a 005 battery - Halfords sell them for £49.99, my local dealer sold me some German battery for £49 or could have sold me a Varta one for £70, Lucas (LSUK) quoted about £60 for one, not too bad really for what is a larger than normal batt...
|
you guys really need to live closer if you're paying £70 for batteries!!!!!!

Got mine for £37 with 3 year warranty the guy looked it up in the book for my MY94 WRX.
|
The next best to Optima always used to be the DELCO range, as loved by sound-off competitors everywhere :D
|
Si,
Either:- Optima Yellow top - most expensive option circa £165 Xxide Maxima 900 - next cheapest circa £145 Deta Orbital Battery - cheapest circa £130 I think i will be going for the Xxide version myself!! Iain |
Still intreged wot difference is between red & yella toped un, even if they r all damn expensive ? So any1 no?
Si |
OK Si, here you go m8
Yellow top is a deep cycle battery (able to take a lot of punishment i.e. amplifiers, driving lights etc) Red top is a 'starter' battery, giving better cranking power but cannot necessarily handle the prolonged abuse like the yellow top can. I believe the yellow top charges quicker as well. Hope that's cleared it up for you. Based on your application i would say the yellow top is the better choice. Iain |
Cheers m8 i think that does sound like the best un 4 me needs :D
Right so who wants 2 buy sum smilies off me for say £165 or so i have sum good uns: http://smilies.networkessence.net/co...ossumhump3.gif lol Si |
