I have been running on normal unleaded for a while now and see seems to be going alrite on it but would I be better going back to Super Unleaded?
|
normal unleaded in an STi5...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
make sure you put at the very least super unleaded in..!! Dan |
Unless you are going everywhere at 2000 rpm then dont use normal unleaded....& even then I would be worried !
Sti5's use the Phase 2 Boxer engine which requires good grade of fuel. Bear in mind that these engines are tuned to run on Japanese 100 RON fuel. I personally run Optimax plus Millers. Ro. [Edited by RoShamBo - 10/16/2002 3:29:59 PM] |
Try Optimax(98+ Ron) & NF(upto 6Ron increase). Tried Optimax & Millers and still had knock at 6000rpm. When running on Optimax and Nf i have never experienced any knock correction whatsoever.
Whatever you do DO NOT RUN ON 95RON ITS LETAL TO YOUR PISTONS. Cheers Gez |
Ricky,
I wouldnt use normal u/l in my sti-v, its asking for trouble if you do have to use it just put a tenner in and run off boost till you can put real fuel in there, use a min of super u/l and nf, I however use Optimax and NF as the combined octane rating is the highest.... |
highest RON fuel in this country (N.Ireland) is 97 SUL. afaik.
|
Doesn anyone now where I can get the NF stuff. Can you mail order it from anywhere?
|
Try
http://www.scoobyscene.co.uk/octane.htm I have been using the stuff since my car came from Japan. It has never suffered from any knock correction as a result. Cheers Gez |
Cheers Gez. I have been using Silkolene Pro Boost but have heard from several people now that the NF stuff is better. I just went on the website. Is it true you get 6 tankfuls from 1 bottle?
|
Those using NF Race Formula....
What ratio of fuel have you been putting it in with. It says between 1ml-5ml per litre of fuel |
