I thought it about time to u/grade IE5 to 5.5SP2, part of the reason being to get some of the Internet Tools. W2K Pro, part of a LAN with a router access for the Internet.

However, I've found 2 problems

1) Internet access is not possible :( Webpages will not display. IPconfig has not changed & no Proxy so should just hit the router & go search for content...

I cannot ping externally :( Ping: transmit failed, error 65
Never come across this before :(

However, as you can see, my W2K Server is fine & I'm able to post

2) Wacom tablet installed. Its knocked my mouse out completely - never happened before, but this is the first time I've rebooted since install. Mouse is a PS2 cordless jobby (with working batteries). Any idea how to get back the mouse? Was setup so that both mouse & tablet worked at the same time...

Agghhh!

:)

A quick google suggests error 65 on win2K is usually connected with ZoneAlarm playing it up - have you re-installed/disabled ZA ?

ZA was not running - took it out of start-up ages ago - off to uninstall it now! (JIC)

Sorted that one :D

Nice one. It certainly wasn't meant to be working & it didn't appear to be in the Task Mgr

:)

Now for the poxy tablet...

Tablet/mouse resolved too :D

Had installed drivers & s/ware for tablet 2 weeks ago (had tablet for years) but not re-booted system as tablet had worked OK. On reboot for 5.5SP2 ugrade, mouse driver had disappeared somehow. Re-installed Intellipoint but no joy still :(

Did a re-boot with an old PS2 corded mouse & that worked fine after a re-boot, as it installed the driver. So I swapped the mice about & cordless now working OK :D

Prob might raise it's head again after the next re-boot? I hope not

:)
