....the brakes that is :(
(wrong forum ? if so sorry) On the way back from PE on Saturday Mega_Stream, Hol and I got a little spirited :) and ended up going quite quickly up a certain bypass (all within the speed limits ;) ) At one point, I had a bit of a 'moment', my brake pedal went very soft, it still worked but had lots more travel and didnt have the 'bite' that I am used to  My question....is this normal on the road? is it 'boiling fluid'? fried pads ? or do I need to upgrade ??? (more than one q) :) (Subaru 4 pots) Thanks in advance :) |
I don't *think* it's fluid related, I think it's the legendary fade. Your discs can't shed head fast enough, and things are stopping working as they should...

OK, thanks for that...It will have to be slotted/drilled discs then, cant afford the 'real thing' at the moment.
Cheers, MD :) |
Don't forget pads!!!!!
Cheap cooling......fit duct pipes and angle towards the calipers. Worked a treat on my old sunbeam Ti. |
Could be worth bleeding the system with good fluid, I can never believe how much new fluid improves brake feel, I'm sure it doesn't take very long for the old stuff to 'go off'.

vented disks & decent pads & a flush of the old fluid then some extra venting towards the brakes will help.
then its big boy brake time £1k+ is the only problem |
Thanks lads...I spose I was thinking I might be able to avoid the 'big boys brakes' purchase ;)
Reckon its nearly time then.... |
