OK, I have standard 2 pot calipers and EBC disks & pads fitted to my 95 WRX. The stopping power is CR@P. I want to upgrade this set-up but not really looking to spend £1500 doing so. Is the Subaru OE 4 pot set-up worth going for or should I set my goals in Brembo/AP/Wilwood and live with the large VISA bill ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It depends what you are going to do with the car. Are you doing track days or just enthusiastic road driving? I've just upgraded to Subaru 4 pots on my 93 WRX. I'm only running standard pads at pres but the difference from 2 pots is massive. Much firmer braking but no grabbing like the 2 pots do. Do a search on brake mods as i'm sure there are hundreds of threads on this board covering all makes of calipers, discs, pads etc.
Hope this helps. Mark

Mark,

Thx for the reply but I'm wanting a pointer for the best way to go. I need brakes to stop me whether it be on or off track. Both ways they'd have to remove fade completely. I am also trying to get the right set-up and maintain sensibility on the cost side of things too.

What size wheels are you using, the best way to go is to get as big as sensible, and then decide if you want cheap big, or not so cheap.

Running 16's.

See the Godspeed Group Buy thread. They do 4 pots and two piece discs that fit under 16" wheels.

If they are as good as the 335mm kit which I've got, they 'll be excellent value for money (I'm doing a trackday with them on Saturday so I hope I've not spoken too soon!).

Steve
