Am I right in saying that the new age (bugeye) has the "semi closed deck" block? Is this the same for WRX as for STi7?

Also, anyone got any experience with killing new age engines - are they any hardier than the older ones? I know the JDM STi runs fairly serious boost as standard and wasn't sure if that's indicative that they've made the engines more resilient?

Not actually aiming to do anything nastier to my MY02 WRX than exhaust, ecutek, etc, but would like to know whether they have higher safety margins than the old model.
