Got my SIDC pack yesterday and I am very impressed with high quality of all the bits.

I am very interested in the Essex Police driving day - do I need track insurance for this?

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif No you dont need track insurance for the course as you dont use your car, Essex police provide the cars for the skid pan. Get your request for the course off asap as there is a waiting list for them.

Ian,

Regarding the waiting list. How can I find out if my name has made it to the waiting list. I know Richard is a busy bloke, what with all his recent media exposure http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif but some indication that a request for the course had been received would make me feel happier.

Julian.

Same here. I sent my request off about September but have heard nothing.

I will see if Dick can let me know schedules etc and see if i can put them on the SIDC site or something, will post on here if i hear anything.

Hi Ed,

Looks like I am following you from one topic to another? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Well, I am not... But I guess as a Scooby owner-to-be I am just interested in the same things as you are.

How did you join the SIDC? Please let me know. I looked through the home page but could not find any contact details. May be waiting for a Scoob for too long causes blindness http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Cheers,

Subarussian

There is an address on the SIDC homepage,

johnfelstead 10 February 2000 09:42 PM

surely in this day and age we can apply on the web site. Sending in 2 self addressed envelopes is so old hat it's untrue.

Ian Cook 10 February 2000 10:33 PM

Dick doesnt have an internet connection, and doesnt want one, so i cant set anything up to do online joining. If i did i would have to deal with all the online requests, then post them to Dick, which would take twice as long as sending 2 SAE's ?

EdwardH 10 February 2000 10:38 PM

Just a suggestion.

The SIDC web site would better read ...'send 2 large (A4) envelopes.' I sent 2 small ones and they ended up taped on the front of 2 big ones.

Not a world saving issue I know, but worth saying.

Point taken Ed, and done. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

johnfelstead 10 February 2000 11:45 PM

ian, could you not just put a sumary of the bumpf that is sent out on the web site so we can just send a cheque in the post based on the contents on the web site.

Am i missing something here, do you send a cheque first and then you get the bumpf in the mail?

Ian Cook 11 February 2000 01:15 PM

John,

You send 2 large SAE's to Dick, he then sends the form to you with some other bumpf, which i havent seen yet? then you send it back with the cheque and get sent the full membership stuff. I asked Dick about doing something online, and he said it would confuse matters as he sends out forms with certain ref numbers to help with the signing up process, again i have no idea what that means, but Dick is the membership secretary !

johnfelstead 11 February 2000 02:06 PM

OK thanks ian.

I think i have got my techy head on too much at times. I hate waiting for things in the post, its so slow.
