If i am holding someone back in what ever lane on either bike or car i will indicate and pull over that is what you are supposed to do,whether "99% of bikers" do or do not pass on the inside is up to them ,but it is common curtesy to move over if the lane on the inside is clear!!

:rolleyes: at any driver who expects a bike rider to perform an illegal manoeuvre just because they're too lazy to move over and because "99% of bikers do it".

If a biker was inches off my bumper I'd move over and let him past, but then again, I probably wouldn't have to as (I hope) I'd have seen him and moved over before he was within inches of my bumper.

I couldn't move as the middle lane was solid which supports my claim that this particular sh1thouse has got a death wish.
If any of you drive the M6 in the mornings you know how busy it is and this guy is just asking to meet his maker. So be it then:( and it doesn't suprise me that half of you bikers actually think I am at fault in this regard.

my final words on this "nonsense post" are that you must be thick to think that a biker(even one of the so called 99% that you seem to have facts on) would squeeze between your ar$e end and the car on the inside then hare up the 15/20 ft space(too small for you to get in) and over take in front of you!!

just dont do it again! let him pass on the correct side its what he wanted to do in the first place!

Most car drivers dont see them or do not pull over so let them undertake and give a sh1t about it!!

As a Scoob owner and R6(sorry) rider i'd like to make the following comments -

When driving the car on the motorway, if it becomes really busy and the speed reduces to below 30mph, then I always move to one side of the lane i'm in to let the bikers come through(and 100% of them do!) - so that means if i'm in the outside lane then I move to the right and the bike undertake me. The majority of cars do the same.
When i'm on the bike I tend to be on the white line between lanes two and three because most people in lane three are trying to peer around the car in front so are on the right of the lane and most people seeing you approaching(always ride with the light on) pull over slightly to give you room. Once the speed picks up then I do as the highway code says.

I have always thought that bikes passing cars on a busy motorway on the inside are suicidal idiots. It only needs the car driver to decide to move into an inner lane without checking their mirrors correctly and the biker is squashed.

Surely its far safer for bikers to pass on the right hand side of Lane 3 then the car driver is unlikely to pull out on one?

I use the M6 regularly on my Gixxer 6 and will not "lane split" at anything over about 30mph as it's a nice way to end up dead.

Remember, if you fall off on a motorway if you're lucky you'll only get hit by one car, if your not it'll be 4 cars, a truck and a Tranny van.

Yes, a lot of bikes do this at much higher speeds, I don't, I like life. I find that the sight of a bike with headlights blazing (NOT full beams) makes most people move out of the way without resorting to tailgating.

alanjack, what car do drive so I can avoid you on the M6, as clearly the chip on your shoulder takes up 2 lanes?
