Chris L 26 September 2002 11:24 AM

I've seen some poor excuses to post up pictures of Britney and Holly, but this is the best :)

Sort of begs the question - instead of buying Impreza's why not buy equivalent powered bikes?

Chris

ScoobyKev 26 September 2002 11:26 AM

Damn right. An Impreza would never catch me up on a GSXR 1300 Hayabusa. I'd be up to 170 mph in about 15 secs...LOL Some people just have no idea..

Regards

kev..

HKSubaru 26 September 2002 11:28 AM

arghh..two on a page, think it's beautiful...:D

Andrewza 26 September 2002 11:32 AM

fast enough to catch the bikers with radar guns

I don't know what article you read, but it doesn't say they were trying to physically catch the bikes, just enough to radar gun them and get their plate I would guess, then no doubt send the owner a lovely letter. The police aren't stupid enough to try and chase people at 200+ on bikes.

Oh, nice piccies as well :D

suzukiman 26 September 2002 11:38 AM

If you think the guys would do 200+mph and still show a correct plate think again.

HKSubaru 26 September 2002 11:39 AM

:D

peccy 26 September 2002 11:56 AM

Chris L,

i reckon chasing the bikers on equivilant bikes would be beyond the call of duty, mad enough doing 140+ in a scoob!

peccy 26 September 2002 12:01 PM

STi wanna Subaru, read it now? :D

Mojo 26 September 2002 12:07 PM

Skipton police are the force that has the Scoobies and have a nice mixture of marked and unmarked ones.
They used to have a couple of marked Honda Blackbirds and an Escort Cossie but they've since been swapped.

Like Andrewza said they don't intend to keep up instead they radar gun them and get plate numbers. Also they are very good at radioing ahead and intercepting them if need be.

200mph is mental!!

LOL @ Peccy :D ;)

BOB.T 26 September 2002 12:11 PM

Nowt new there, they've only had them since '99, long enough for them to crash every one of them:rolleyes: One officer took one for a jolly, wrapped it up to the tune of 8 grand:eek:

If you're coming this way look out for the 3 marked scoobs, v reg dbm and x reg in silver;)

Bob

peccy 26 September 2002 01:28 PM

DavidRB 26 September 2002 02:21 PM

I wonder how far they'd fly at 200mph if they went over a stinger?

stevem2k 26 September 2002 02:45 PM

What article ?

peccy 26 September 2002 03:51 PM

On the Bassetts Pole/Hams Hall (in the West Midlands) Tuesday evening bikers meets, the local press are saying that some of them drive at 230mph

You can't beat unbiased and accurate reporting
