To save everyone reading the six pages a summary of the days activities foillows:

****LATEST UPDATE****"BIG MEET"CONFIRMATION*****

Well Everyone..its up to you now.

Spoken with Longleat today & this is the situation.
They are sending me 100 vouchers valid for Sat.19th Oct.

Each voucher will entitle"ONE PERSON":
Entry to Grounds+Parking-(FREE)
Discount to Safari Park-(Adult £6.75)
(Child £4.50) or
Discounted Passport Ticket-(Adult £11.25)
(admission to everything) (Child £ 8.25)

So basically, what this means,is the choice is your's my Friends, you can either just park up in the Grounds,go round the Safari Park(+for those of you who think your car will be"dismantled by a Monkey") well its like this, there's a Safari Bus to go round on,or with the Passport Ticket you can go everywhere.

The Vouchers are being sent to me regardless,if i need more i can get some,so an idea of how many people(not cars) actually going would be helpful.
Perhaps each co-ordinator for each area can do this & let me know (i will be contacting those people via E:mail).

As far as distributing the vouchers,i myself, with the help of one/two others will arrive at Longleat early enough to meet everyone as they arrive(Times & Entrance location to be Posted later).
One other thing,as hopefully there could be alot of us,they have said they will try to Park us all together...(Great opportunity for Photo's etc..)so if i know how many cars also i can tell them before the day so they know.

If possible,i may try to arrange a"run"later in the day also, but we'll have to see,i won't commit yet, think of it as a"Bonus/Surprise"

"IT'S UP TO YOU ALL NOW" to make this a"BIG MEET" + a"success".

Sounds like a good day out. Just need a volunteer to organise things from our side.

Mike

Jasy T 26 September 2002 01:09 PM

Count me in - how do I get a voucher

Duracell 26 September 2002 04:34 PM

Hello Wales!!!

I see you've got wind of our"Big meet".

Well,if one of you will kindly act as a co-ordinator for me & find out how many people(for voucher purposes) + how many cars there will be coming, then that would be a great help, otherwise some of you may turn up & there may not be enuf vouchers left.

Whoever volunteers for this they can E:mail me,then i will keep u in touch with final details.

Cheers Duracell :D

P.S i will be holidaying in Tenby next week :)

msp1 26 September 2002 09:05 PM

I'm more than happy to carry the Baton for the Wales members.

Happens to be my birthday on the day of the meet and I can't think of a better way of spending it, sounds like a good day out for the whole family.

I'll start the ball rolling:-

msp1 - 2 x Discounted Passport Ticket-(Adult £11.25)
2 x (admission to everything) (Child £ 8.25)
1 x MY00

I'll get the mailing list from the recent Newport meet and mail everybody directly with the details.

Mike

Junction 33 :) services is a good meeting point for me and not far for Chris, we can always pick up others on the way.

********************THE BIG NEWPORT MEET*****************

For those of you that regularly scan the Scoobynet BBS you may well be aware that the Southern boys are organising a Big Meet. They have kindly invited all of us to attend in what looks like being a great day out, not just for the enthusiastic Impreza driver but for other family members as the venue is LONGLEAT. The date is Saturday 19 October 2002.

If you wish to join us I need to know what type of tickets you require, how many and number of cars (for parking reasons).

Please feel free to e-mail me directly or through the BBS if you require any further information.

For more info about Longleat (it's not just a Safari Park you know) visit their site at:

Hello Everyone,

Back from my hols.

had a great time!!!!!

Really pleased to see lots of"interest"from you all+Many thanks to my co-ordinators for doing their bit so far whilst i was away.

Had received a letter from Longleat when i got back & there is a very slight change to previous instructions which is now :-

1)On arrival at Main Entrance(still between 9+10am)***ALL TICKETS***regardless of what each of you decide to opt for MUST NOW BE PURCHASED AT MAIN ENTRANCE WHEN YOU ARRIVE USING THE VOUCHERS PROVIDED.

This is basically because i'm now told that THIS IS THE ONLY TICKET BOOTH THAT WILL ACCEPT OUR VOUCHERS.

Apologises for this but i was originally led to believe we could go+park up & then get the Tickets at our leisure. As the arrival time is set between 9+10am,if we don't all arrive at the same time then hopefully the queing won't be too bad for Tickets.

On another note:Unfortunately"The Residents"of Longleat will NOT allow us to park our cars in front of the"House"for a Photo, however i am told that there should be no problem at around 4pm being able to use the coach car park for our photograph as this will be"BIG"enough to accomodate us !!!!!
So at least we'll get our"picie"

On the subject of vouchers,i currently have 200,should get more if needed.I now have some numbers from the co-ordinators,but need to know very soon now so they can be posted to them,so your last chance to decide if your coming??????
Myself & a few of the Cornwall gang will be at the main entrance on the day with what vouchers are left over for anyone who doesn't get one.

Hope this all makes sense, soz if its a bit"long winded",got a bit key tapping happy as not been on computer for a week!!!!

Regards to you all.....Duracell

Received the tickets from Duracell this morning. I've got a few spare so if anyone else wants to come let me know ASAP.

The plan by the Southern bunch is to arrive at Longleat on Saturday 19 between 9 & 10. I've done an RAC route which calculated the journey time as 1hr 55mins. This is based on 60mph on mway and 30mph on all other roads so we'll prob reduce this a little. How does an 8:15 start at J33 sound.

Mike

aandy 12 October 2002 07:12 PM

sounds good to me mike...see you at 8:15 next saturday
andy
ps...i suppose i will have to spend all friday night cleaning the car instead of going to the pub

Catalunya Pete 14 October 2002 08:05 PM

Have you still got any tickets left for Saturday ? I'd like 2 adult passes, am I right in thinking that my 2 children are free as they're under 2.

Pete

msp1 14 October 2002 08:59 PM

Pete

2 tickets with your name on. How you fixed for J33 @ 8:15?

I've checked the Longleat website and under 4's are free.

A few tickets left if anyone wants to join us.

Mike

msp1 15 October 2002 08:50 PM

Did a quick count of the number of cars attending Longleat and stopped at 50 as I was getting bored. If we can depart punctually at 08:15 (arrive 08:05) we can meet up with another convoy at M4 J18 at 09:00. I've asked SteveB for a route as the A36 is closed south of Bath.

Hello Everyone

A decision has now been made for a time to re-group on the day at Longleat for the Photo opportunity !

If we tell everyone to meet back at the cars at 1.00pm,this will then allow everyone the best all round chance to be in the picture,as some may not wish to stay the whole day at Longleat+those that do,can just go back to whatever they want to do.This is also taking into account, should the weather be against us??!! LETS HOPE NOT !

May i take this opportunity to"wish all of You a very Safe+Fun Convoy" to Longleat+hope very much You all enjoy yourselves & make this a"meet to remember"!!!!!!!

HERE'S TO SATURDAY ! ! : )

Thank You All.......Cheers Duracell _________________________________________________
