I was about to fit some pedal extentions to my 95' WRX till I discovered to my horror that the pedals arms come straight down and have a diagonal weld to the clutch and brake pedal preventing me from drilling holes...

Moreover... the accelerator pedal was just plastic... no rubber on metal, just a bit of plastic on a spring attached to the arm.

I want pedal extentions... what do I do... can I get clip on ones to fit...

get a set of the genuine sti ones......it includes a neat footrest too.....got mine from scoobymania @100 bux inc delivery...they fit perfect and the accelerator pedal is a clever fit, a long bolt with lock nut straight thru the pivot and the brake and clutch pedal are perfect fit....not sur if they would be fia approved for track but you could use nylon bolts and washers for added safety....i got sum thread lock and anti slip washers and used all origonal fitting.....takes about half hour max (includes tea break)
i guess you was using sparco ones which i know are a bummer to fit.

I must say thanks for the response... that's great... but the only thought I have now is £100 for sti pedals and footrest or £19.99 for sparco clip ones...

What do you think???

You can fit Sparco bolt on ones - I've done it... you just need to be careful where you're drilling the holes and especially careful with the throttle pedal...

Thanks for the advice guys, it is much appreciated... Pardon my ignorance but I thought the concept of bolting on pedals were so you don't have to drill holes?

Was I wrong... I will hopefully be going to the shops to pick some up during the week or order the sti's... but people may think it a bit weird putting sti pedals on a non sti version... wouldn't they?

Er... not sure about the differences to be honest.

At a guess I'd say that - "bolt-on" (like mine) require you to drill holes... "clip-on" should clip on so no holes required?

Not an expert, just replied the first time to say that you can fit bolt-on ones if you want to - just take your time and be careful.

As for the STi pedals - in my opinion there's no reason why your car needs to be an STi to have STi pedals.
You've got a Subaru - so no reason why you shouldn't have a few goodies/extras from the official Subaru performance division - if you can afford it... ;)

Could you not go to your local push bike retailer and get some toe-clips ??

I fitted a ripspeed pedal ontop of the stupid plastic one.... drilled some holes and you'd never know... cheap option.!
