I cant take the photo of the ecu but I get the information on the label. So I was wrong because it was an AD200 ecu not AE series.

Anyone made one of these of late?

DT107 don't seem to easy to find, well I can't find a suppier in the UK.
Back lit LCDs have dropped in price but finding a 'big' 16x2 isn't so easy.

AndrewCs design looks perfect for what I am looking for so hope to manage to find all the bits to put the circuit together. Failing that I will try to adapt the designing for parts I can find.

The select monitor plug is suppose to be the same as the plug on a PC2-29-4Subaru audio adapter but they too aren't easy to find at a good price.

Just missed out on the Scooby Monitor on ebay last week. Wonder if the buyer is on this site? :)

This may help when you build it. Also, when I had mine I used a nice display from CPC.co.uk that has the blue background and white lettering. Display was 99mm in width with fairly large characters.

Does anyone have any information about building one of these monitors, All links appear to be broken and scobymonitor website hasn't work for ages?

I'd imagine this was around the time of the birt of the PSi3 Monitor, which has also stopped trading.

Just read through this thread and would also be very interested in having something similar in my car (once it's built lol). After a little searching (google is my friend) i've stumbled accross this:

Works on both Evo and Subaru and to be honest has a very reasonable price tag, only problem is it's in New Zealand so would need to be imported but hey it's promising.

As said before it looks like it would be much easier to integrate into your dash rather than having all the guages.

I'd be interested, but from what I can make out the only part I'd need to import to get it to work on my classic is the SSMI DataLogger cable. Their basic P&P option is only $10nz, which works out at £4.60, so it's hardly breaking the bank to buy direct.

The interesting part would be fitting a 12-volt powered mini-PC into the center console, if you wanted to go for the fully integrated look.Too many other projects already on the go at the moment to start on that myself though, maybe next summer.

Question for the mods - how did this thread end up on the Drivetrain message-board, is that where the OP originally put it? I would have thought Engine or Interior makes a lot more sense.

Prices are only from what i can work out, i could have it wrong. I have sent them a support ticket to ask for my 1999 Impreza so will let you know the outcome.

Andrew's device was designed for the 97-98 Imprezas, the diagnostic protocol used on all the other cars is different.

The OpenPort will work on the 99 and newer cars - but you will need compatible software. Reprogramming the 99-00 ECUs isn't a risk-free experience, even if you know how to map in the first place.

sorry about my bad English i am from Germany and i hope you will understand me. I am interested in the Scoobymonitor project, but the homepage from Andrew is not available. I have an T25 VW Bus with a Subaru EJ 22 conversion and i want to develope a display to show some engine data in the cockpit like the Scooby Monitor. My question is ? Has anybody saved the information from Andrews Web Side ? I need the part with the description from The ECU Protocoll and the Bascom sample file for a memory dump. The Bascom file was a sample for the communication between the ECU and the display.

thanks for the link, verry helpful . What i need is the bascom file. In the download area from Andrews web side there was a file "Bascom-AVR Source code for `Dumper` demo programm. The name of the file was "Dumper.bas". I need this file to understand the communication between the ECU and the Atmel controler. I wrote a Email to Andrew but he doesent answer to me. Now the question to the forum : has anybody saved the file or has a printout from the code inside the file?
