What sort of temp do brake calipers reach when induced with heavy brakeing??

I'm only asking as I have brought some paint for the caliper and it can withstand a max temp of 450c.

Not sure of the exact temperature, however after heavy breaking if i lick the disks it hisses.......

Halfords do break caliper enamel so if this does exactly what it say on the can should be ok.....

If this is not the make of paint you have, May be worth covertly going to your local halford's, preferably with a friend who can cover your actions, and with a few rolls and sniper crawls work your way to the paint section. then read the temperature application on the tins, if this matches yours you should be ok..........

Hope this helps........

The Foliatec stuff Halfords sell still burns black when you go on track though and get them really hot.

The sales guy recommend high temp black engine enamal paint, this can withstand temp of 450c.

He said its the same as the caliper paint but cheaper.

will check out halfords today.
