Subject: 480km bike ride anyone?

Dear All,

Some of you may or may not know that I will be Cycling across China in October aiming to raise money for the mentally handicapped. The ride will be 480km and will take 5 days, starting at Great Wall of China and finishing in Tiananmen Square. I am aiming to
raise £5000 or more, what I ask from you is to sponsor me all you can afford for this worthwhile charity by sending a cheque (payable to Mencap Promotions Ltd.) to me at XTW4 or, if things are a bit tight at the moment, just send me an email to say that you would like to support me by pledging a donation which I can collect at a later date. You can donate a flat amount or something per kilometre - how about 10p! The maximum number of kilometres we are allowed to claim is 452.

I am currently training about 12 hours per week and will increase this to 25 by the beginning of October. Hopefully lose a few (a lot) of unwanted pounds by then. I have a few day rides scheduled of 170km (106 miles) and 2 weekends of 8 hours per day.

Anything you can spare is greatly appreciated, also if you know of anyone who may also be interested in helping me help Mencap please forward this email on to them.

Thank you in advance

Regards,

Terence Delaney
