Have to replace the brakes after IOM. Have to get big disks & 6 pots which means an upgrade to 17" wheels.

Does anyone know or can recommend a supplier that will give me a good price for such a silly spend! The KEY point is WARRANTY as I will go spare if these disks WARP - must include amateur track use in the warranty.

I would LOVE it to cost less than 2K, although £1500 is beyond my current means... Ho hum.

Thanks for any advice.

Diesel, you DONT have to go for 6 pots. Who told you that.

AP 4 pots, with bigger discs are well up to a hard life. Trust me, been there and done it.

Just wasnt ever impressed with the standard 'STi' 4 pots mate!

You used them really hard on a track and they have been fine then?

I have HAD AP 4 pots and currently have AP 6 pots. I have had NO problem with fade with the 4 pots, and that was using an 83 compound brake pad.

If you are going for 17's then you can fit the bigger brake disc, this helps reduce the chances of ever getting fade.

Maybe this sould be moved to the brake forum.

Back from hols!

Danny, was the difference between the 4 pots and the 6 pots very noticeable/worth it?

PS this IS in the brake forum!

D, it WAS in the general forum, now moved.

The difference is a slightly harder pedel on the 4 pots, a better choice of pads for the 4 pots, and you only have to have 16's to have them fitted.

Here comes the best bit, they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the 6 pots.

Thanks for your continued advice - whichever forum we are in ;)

Been looking at the AP 6 pots - these are about £200 more than the 4 pots. Not much...

I'm being a pain on this research, but looks like a call to TSL tomorr for their 17" lightweight forged wheels @ £110 + tax per corner and their 6 pot braking kit @ £1350. Other wise I will NEVER decide - so much info and conflicting info!

Think I fancy the Dunlop pads - DS2500 ?

Again thanks for your advice.
