well youve got to laugh, well i did anyway so thought i'd share my morning with you...

"range rover normally goes on the drive "steep drive" nose forward right up to the garage door as the R1 is in there, normally jump in it in the morning stick it in reverse & pull back to get the bike out, last night thought i'd reverse the car up to the garage door with the tow bar cm's away from the garage door, still clearly half asleep at 7.15am jumped in started it up stuck it in reverse & thought mm thats od the car seems to be rolling backward, i'll just give it a little juice to pull it forward obviously thinking it was in drive & my my my what damage a 3 tonne car can do to a garage door, it is really quite amazing, it looks as if a normal car has hit it at about 30mph, & i scratched the ****ing towbar too, the R1 is fine i think as i cant get the door out to check i will try posting a pic later for a laugh :)

any ideas car insurance or house insurance or just leave it as a feature, could try getting leccy doors on the garage from a dodgy builder on the insurance though i suppose?

any ideas on the insurance though? car/house or just cough up the cash myself?

hmm tricky one. I would have thought car insurance should cover it - if you had inadvertantly driven into someone else's property your insurance would have to pay out so shouldnt matter that it is your own property. Just be prepared to be featured in on an "amusing insurance claim" email in the near future!
Seriously though, best of luck. If it was me I dont think I would be making light of it as you did in your post.

Do it on the house insurance..........

You don't have a sizeable no-claims bonus at stake with that!!

i going to try the house insurance 1st, a have to make light of the situation it is just too ridiculous & it is very amusing, the £500 bill i have been quoted to fix it however is NOT amusing at all.
