Happens all the time... I wouldnt bother. Get a Cossie or an Evo instead - they never go wrong!

On the other hand, if you can put up with no.3 popping out the side of your block every now and then - come join the club!

I saw a article in the Mirror about reliability problems on cars and the percentage that went back to the dealer for repair.

2000-2002 Subaru(all subarus)were one of the most reliable cars,i think it was 3% of ALL Subaru went back for repair and the worse was the Chrysler Jeep 34% went back for repair.

They didnt list individual car it was just manufacturers.

Doc@IlsonIlson 06 September 2002 05:21 PM

I dont suppose that list included Escort Cossies with 300+bhp and gearboxes did it??

scoobycar60 06 September 2002 06:21 PM

Oh yes, good old number 3!

Your not a real scooby enthusiast if you haven't blown up at least one engine.

No. 2 can go as well!

There are always a few "beggers" about the club as in....

Big End Gone Getting Engine Repaired Soon

"Soon" as in soon as I have saved up 2-3 grand to sort it out.

Dont let this put you off, its all part of the fun. All high performance cars have a weakness, this is the scooby's.

;)

Just price up an AYC unit on an EVO if you dont service them every 4,500 miles. Just have a look at recall notices as well ;).

Having read the latesed CCC mag, I now realise why the EVO is as it is, and the Scooby isn't. And more importantly why I must change to an EVO. The damn thing comes with a full steel engine, intercooler the size of Banbury, and running a conservative 1.0 bar pressure, probably just to take the pis...mickey !!!

what would scooby do 07 September 2002 12:43 AM

subaru engine parts are now supplied by Cadbury's - i.e they are made of chocolate.

/me car just crapped out number 3 bearing... as usual/

Nige,

You must be bored!!!!! If you wanted more replies, you should have just posted:

"I own an escort cossie, and it'll whoop every scooby on the planet!"

Anyway, there's no point buying a scooby comapred to what you've got.... although the engine would sound ten times better!
