Just saw the attack. Was the president cool or what? When asked immediatley after the attack - how he was - he replies 'I expect these things to happen'

As usual the American protection unit were just a tad slow and only plugged the guy after he had made his attempt.

Mr Karzai shows courage and bravery not seen in any western leader. His job must be one of the most dangerous in the world.

Could you imagine any European or US politician a) standing for the job b) being so calm about such a narrow escape?

True selfless devotion to his country.

I admire him and hope he continues to avoid the assassins bullets.

I also think that he should have much better protection from the UN peace keepers as a succesful attempt on his life will seriously destabilise this part of the world again. His number 2 has already been killed.

Surprised the Americans didn't waste the Prez himself and then excuse themselves for collateral damage.

I certainly wouldn't want that job! The man is most impressive for the way he dealt with it and trying to sort out the country.

Pete,

Well said. He is certainly a brave man with a very hard task of building his country.

Look at Bush (muppet), doesn't know what he's on about half of the time.

Brave, the bloke was probably being shot at and in fear of his life every single day before Afghanistans liberation. Getting shot at in a car is probably what he would call safe, and I quote: "at least I've got a car between me and them now"
