Scooby prices are tumbling and cossie prices are going sky high.
20k for a decent escort.
I wonder why ?

The price of Scoobies seems erratic at the best of times but recently I`ve noticed people really struggling to sell their cars. I know that the price has been dropping for these cars but when will this end? Does anyone have any feelings about the state of the market just now and in the future? Is now a good or bad time to buy a scoob or should I wait and for how long?
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Look at it this way.

You buy one and prices drop like a stone.
You keep it a while and then sell it and you "lose" a load of money.

But, providing you trade up i.e. buy a newer model, that will have lost even more money. So do you really lose that much?

Cars, most anyway, are not an good investment they always lose money, so accept that and if you want one and can afford it then go for it.

Having said that if you buy a brand new UK car then you are mad but that's just my opinion. I recently bought a '99V because now was the right time for me.

People are selling too cheap IMO.
Please stop it I want a good price for mine when I come to sell.

Seems that as they get ever popular prices drop. I bought an STI V2 back in June '99 from a garage for £17.5K and at the time there wasn't too many about or for sale in Top Marques etc., 2 years later I sold it with mods for £11.5K and there were hundreds for sale and they seem to be going down all the time.

Simple - every decent Escort comes with a flying pig to drive it for you, an ashtray full of hens' teeth, and a sack of rocking horse sh*t in the boot :D

the reason cossie is that there are about 5 decent escort cossies in the country, the rest are $hite! you can pick up escort cossies for peanuts, just not the good ones, which is the way it should be.

Supply and Demand Just that simple really :)

World Economic situation does not help matters either....just my 2 cents :)

That could have been Jimmy Nail's car in Spender, got blown up in series so not likely to be in a roadworthy condition.
