Hi there,

I need a new set of number plates, and fancy a set with the GB/EU thing on. Has anyone any experience with buying from this place?

Hi,

Got a local image shop that will make plates how ever you want with whatever font, you could always try them. They will make a plate what ever size you like !. I am now running a smaller plate on the front to allow more air in !!

You could always order some from them and I would pick them up for you. Let me know !

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Will let you know... I need some that are road legal still as well, and I have the full length plate (1 letter, 3 numbers, 3 letters).

Like the idea about air cooling - I'll be removing the plates for airfield days in the next couple of months partly for this reason but also just in case anyone's snapping!

Gotta meet up next time I'm in your neck o the woods.

Simon.

Simon

Bought some plates from Tenant Plastics in Nottingham, mail order. See this thread for recommendation on the bbs.

Thanks Paul, appreciate the help.

Simon,

Remember that if you have the GB badge on a standard 7 letter plate it makes the spacing illegal unless one of the numbers is a 1.

Perhaps the broken plate is some kind of omen for you to get a personalised 5 digit plate http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/sheep.gif

Seriously, have a look at this site. They have a pretty good selection of custom plates. Am considering to use them myself just to get rid of garage advertising on my car.

I thought I'd be OK if I used the new narrower font that the DVLA has on their site????

lpitt 23 July 2001 04:13 PM

Ok. I'll give you that one!

(Still doesn't S1 WRX look tempting?)

Not as temping as S1MON but I guess that's gone, as will 51MON which I bet cost a packet.

I guess there's hope with S11MON or S111MON, but I'd rather spend the cash on making the car sound / go better!

I can help with plates, especially if you want them shortened or custom sizes. E-mail me if you want more details.

Just to say I bought from new-plates.co.uk in the end... £19.99 delivered to the door next day, customer service query by email answered in 20 minutes, I'm well impressed!

Iain,
car is going in to get the bodywork fixed next week, so hopefully I'll have some pics for you of the plates you did for me (both sets).
