Guys,

My 99 uk scoob makes a terrible tinny rattling noise in every gear above about 5000 rpm, it sounds like heat shield vibration or something like that but i have checked under the bonnet for anything loose with no luck, it also occasionaly starts holding back, especially uphill, i have had to my dealer who couldn't find anything wrong, anybody out there had similar problems?

I got a rattling noise on mine , a 93 WRX , and know where it's coming from , don't know whether yours is the same .... from the air box look down through the engine bay towards the ground , there is a nut that fasten the heat shield around the manifold , and by the nut , my heatshield has got a hairline fracture , it's only noticed because of the tiny bit of rust around the fracture , but it looks a complete bu66er to do , I want to find someone that can possibly get an arc welder down there just to dab a bit of weld over the fracture.................. Don't know whether this helps , but hope it does.
