I have a uk spec MY00 and find that sometimes it is knotchy in 3rd gear, also reverse is sometimes difficult to select. The problem happens around 2500-30000 revs regardless if the engine is cold or hot.Shall be ringing up the dealers but just wondered if any of u guys have heard of this prob!

Has your car had the 30k service yet?
It may be that the gearbox oil needs changing, ask your dealer if they can put a synthetic oil in there (not sure which type, someone will know thou :D) as its changed at the 30k service.

Just had 30k service(1 month ago),problem seemed to have gone but has come back.I thought it might have something to do with the clutch hydraulics

I've got a 93 WRX had problems with syncro and bearings. Gear box oil is 75 90 4.5 litres check it's all topped up, reverse gear is normal for crunching. 3rd gear, does this crunch in gear change, if so could be syncro?

gearlevel is ok (syntrax in gerbox)
