Lookin to get a dump valve, any suggestions?? ( Preferably a loud one!) Cheers. Bee

Moles Dad 25 August 2002 10:24 PM

I have seen the Blitz one on here quoted as being the loudest, I have an HKS super sequential...loud enough for me :)

Eagle7 25 August 2002 11:14 PM

i have a HKS super sequential too, try that for loudness! especially with a nice induction kit!

WhiteSTi3 26 August 2002 09:32 PM

I have a Twin Piston Bailey, & it makes a great noise, especially when on a motorway or dual carriageway & you slowly come of the throttle

FASTER MIKE!! 26 August 2002 10:58 PM

if you want LOUD  then it the Turbo XS rfl(realy f**in loud) 120db  at 13psi  cost £225 with a fitting kit so it cheaper than Blitz etc. sound good too.
regards mike
ps got mine at AWD in scotland

Eagle7 27 August 2002 04:57 PM

120db???? doesn't that make pedestrians ears bleed???? :D:D

seriously though, isn't that dangerous at that level?

Eagle7 27 August 2002 05:12 PM

just looked that up, thats as loud as a pneumatic drill and only 10-15db below the pain threshhold!!!

According to this site, it is louder than a car horn and about same as a jet engine! http://www.howstuffworks.com/question124.htm

RICH WILD 27 August 2002 05:15 PM

You want loud?

Blitz sounds like a mousefart next to this.

2.5" dia trumpet

Turbosmart Supersonic. Awesome.

RICH WILD 28 August 2002 08:34 AM

LOL @ Bee.

It actually sounds like someone cracking a massive whip.

I have made people on the kerb physically jump in the air with it!
It's very good fun!

Cheers

Rich

I fitted a Bailey and it's plenty loud enough. i am only running around 0.6 bar so it will be even louder when I up the boost.

Cracking a whip lol I bet it makes em **** themselves.

Bee 28 August 2002 04:57 PM

Rich, YHM matey

Moles Dad 28 August 2002 07:03 PM

WhiteSTi3, sorry but this might sound rather dim :D

It is the F1 Cafe/Bar near I think, Borstall nr Chatham, when?

Not sure, but I THINK its the 3rd Friday of each month, keep an eye on 'Southern' section.

Hol and/or mega_stream will be able to confirm and link you to a location map :)

Hope to see you there.

Eagle7 28 August 2002 10:54 PM

ok can one of you LOUD guys mail me a soundclip, i gotta hear this!

Devil's Refugee 29 August 2002 08:33 AM

Perhaps try the APS dual BOV.
It recirculates at low boost like the stock item, and let's rip on high boost by dumping to atmosphere.
:)

FASTER MIKE!! 29 August 2002 08:02 PM

could`nt find one for the turbo xs one, but theres one on the turbosmart site
www.turbosmart.com/au
regards mike
