unichip? superchip? can you give me more details of how they are installed etc?

What do you want from your car?

What do you think Unichip and Superchip will bring you?

If you want more power safely - the Superchip can be used with great caution to give you a little - but it is not the best solution - simply upping the boost with a bleed valve and stopping the fuel safety cut.

Unichip is better - piggy back ECU to control fuel and ignition - but you will need a separate boost controller.

You can go the whole hog and get a replacement ECU - this will give the greatest flexibility and safety.

LINK, GEMS, PECTEL and MOTEC are the most commonly used by Scoobs - with the LINK the one with probably the most takers.

They will all control boost, fuel and ignition and the more you pay the more sophisticated and 'tailorable' the resulting 'map' will be when you are done. For example - the best will enable compensations for ambient temp, exhaust temp, inlet temp - all enabling your car to be run at its optimum. A LINK will give a more basic map - but equally plenty of power.

Oh, yes and there is ECUTEK - a new system that enables later cars to have the Subaru (JECS) ECU remapped in place - if you are not going for huge power - and don't change your car mods often this could be the best route.

Looking at around £1450 for the whole link kit fitted and mapped IIRC.

Have a look at BRD for more Link info, these guys are the people you wanna be speaking to if you want a link set up.

I am looking for large-ish power Trout - MAF sensor could be changed and remapped for if I saturated it?
