for Bridgestone SO3's 215/40/17.
Is that a good price ? Is it the right tyre size for 17" wheels Appreciate your comments Andy. |
Well the last SO2 PP's (215/40/17) i purchased about a month ago cost me 119 quid each (no fitting) so 125 seems to be a fair buy ;) and the tyre size is good aslong as its for a classic shaped scoob ;)

Andy,
i should also point out that the so3's are not as good as the so2's, so most people are going for the goodyear eagle F1's which came out top in a performance test, the bridgestones came near the bottom :( Tony:D |
Thanks Tony.
Currently running So3's on 16's & dont seem to have many problems although I probably dont push as much as some folk on here :D I hit 6-6.5K & not more (already had 1 engine rebuild). Have you any links or info about the test. ie can I get to read the report on the test. Might as well get the best tyres available & if the SO3's are not them I should look elsewhere. Regards. Andy. |
Andy,
will have a look for you, it was in one of the car mags, not sure if it was auto express or evo..... ill get the pile out ;) Tony:D |
Oh found it! :D
it's in July 2002's Evo mag, will see if i can find a link on the site etc to see if they have any info on it. Tony:D |
Hmmm ok so cant find anything on the evo site :(
but..... 8 different types of tyres tested 1. Bridgestone so3 2. Avon zz3 3. Dunlop sp sport 9000 4. Michelin pilot sport 5. Pirelli P7000 6. Toyo Proxes T1-S 7. ContiSportContact 8. Goodyear Eagel F1 GS-D3 Places and points allocated! 8th Avon, 7481 7th Bridgestone 7605 6th Dunlop 7623 5th Michelin 7684 4th Pirelli 7983 3rd Toyo 8334 2nd Conti 8414 1st Goodyear 8489 The tyre size used was 215/45/17. Tony:D |
I got P-Zero Nero's 215/35/18 for 523 (130 a corner) and they are by far and away suprior(IMHO) than any of the listed tyres:)
|
Does that mean you've tried all eight?
Why pay £125 for what is supposed to be an ace tyre when you could buy a very highly regarded tyre (toyo) for £76 a corner. (215/40 17"). Think what you could do with nearly £200! |
Why have cotton when you can have silk:) The extra 180 quid is worth spending for the quality of tyre and the grip levels are just first class. I have experience with P7000 and michelin sport and are crap in comparison.
Tyres are your ONLY contact with the tarmac so why not? |
Paid £109 per tyre for S-03's yest. at Elites.

I got a set of TOYO's from Blackcircles.com for a good price - have you thought about the TOYO's?
