I'm thinking about a import uk spec impreza turbo. Would I be better off using Litchfield or ordering it direct from a dealer on the continent? Any advice gratefully rec'd..!

Thanks
Jason

Depends whether you want the lowest price, or the easiest service. Having said that, I imported a MY02 WRX wagon from Garage Knockaert in Ypres, Belgium - plain sailing (including North Sea Ferries!). Cost just a smidge over £16k all in.....

Order direct!
its just like ordering in the uk,most dealers in belgium/holland speak english, and most will probably have delt with uk imports by now,so know what they are doing cost will be about £15100 inc vat,but you may have to fit an alarm(dont know if current model in europe comes withone, but i had to with my 2000 model)you will also have to budget £3/400 for flight or ferry tickets,
i used niba motors in den haag, www.niba.nl
try 4circle.com as well, you can order online direct with the dealer. basically you will save £2000 by importing yourself over a dealer that will do it for you. plus bank intrest rates are reasonable esp if you piggyback the loan onto the mortgage(if you fell confident that you wont loose your job in 3 years!!!,as your house will be at risk!)

wow that was quick thanks gentlemen.
I hate doing it to my dealer (who's a nice guy) but the price of the Euro imported car makes buying one a no brainer!

just skipped into litchfields website, their price is actually quite good,£16100,the saving would only be £3/400,but you wouldnt get the chance to have a wee weekend trip to europe ;)

I used Garage Knockaert in Ypres Belgium via an agent 6 months ish wait, cost around 15500 delivered to my door. Alain at Knockaert is pretty good. No alarm or locking wheel nuts but hey.

Nope he's not been nice enough to warrant £5000!

Thanks for your help any contact details for the dealers you mentioned?

Try direct quotes - my MY00 cost me about 14k with travel included from Holland.
