I have been told by the dealer that a PPP upgrade actually adds about 1 thousand pounds to the residual value of the car. Can anyone else confirm this?

Yes.
I traded in my old MY00 with PPP and the dealer added a grand onto the trade in price. It makes the actual cost of the PPP about 800 quid. Other mods may actually decrease or only add on a small portion to the value of the car, but dealers like the prodrive mods. |

did u have any other mods? like a DP? |
Saying that though I have just spoke to another dealership and they said that they werent bothered if it had PPP or not - the value they offer is purely based on their own set of criteria which did not include wether the car had any mods. It seems as if each dealership has its own set of rules.

It had AP 6 pots and prodrive PD7 wheels(now on my STI 7). I put the car back to standard except for the PPP. As the dealer would only offer me 500 quid for my AP 6 pots and wheels. It does depend on the dealer, but I would haggle for the extra grand. [Edited by Neil Smalley - 8/22/2002 4:27:18 PM] |
I px'ed my WRX with PPP with a non Subaru dealer, because they didn't even know what a PPP was (and it isn't on the optiosn list etc in the Glass's guide) they offered mw nowt extra :-(
Darren. PS - love the M3 though :-) |
Local dealer had a w reg PPP sitting around quite a while - couldn't sell it cause people kept finding it was too expensive to insure (dunno why - I had a quote which only added £80 a year) - they ended up taking off the PPP to sell it!

my insurance company loaded my premium by 25% for PPP
