I guess I should fess up then.

The S202 is a rocket sled - different turbo & exhaust, lighter chassis (from the RA spec C), stiffer suspension + more herbs. It also runs the RA spec C front geometry which is heaps better than the standard car's. It all adds up to a mega fast Rex. Fabulous if you can live with the compromises.

The Limited has the torque numbers, but the extra weight numbs that, although as people have realised, any STi of the current gen is pretty damn quick when on boost.

Both are nice, but the S202 is appreciably quicker (having said which the Pirellis are not as good in the dry as the RE070s on the spec C).

Cheers :)

AJBase,
Isn't it true that these cars posses no front-subframe-less rubber? Is the steering feel improved?

If there is anyone out there who doesn't like the colour and wants to give it away:D:D my address is 5................ :D LOL

Will they do a UK limited Edition Import as they did with the 22b UK ???

With apologies to Martin ;) :p There's gotta be some benefit for living in this place :D

Jeremy, try subframe-less  It also has that fab front end that really bites into and thru corners. So yes, the feel is very good, basically there are few minuses I can think of when it comes to the new set-up.

There are some minuses though - check the pics + story on Apexjapan.com - no boot lining, no oh 5h*t handles ;) - it is pretty darn full on. :D

Tony - I honestly don't know about a UK version - I believe they'll wait for next year's car that'll see some more improvements (on all fronts). Also, using the Spec C shell as a base internationally is a bit of a stretch (it really is light weight). Using various bits off the C/S202 and tweaking the ECU for the fuel is possible though...

AJ,
With the hit that the STi7 has become over here Subaru must realise that (with the UK market and EEC regs) cutting performance 300bhp - 276 - 254 - 240 - 218 -208 would ain't good for sales. I hope the move forward on the back of the V11 and with the S202 looks as if the have very nicely.

Lighter and more power, gotta be the way forward (or backward ;) ).

T5NYW 24 August 2002 07:59 PM

Yep my STi7 suffers from being a tad Lardy and under powered what would be nice is a Prodrive group "N" curtisy car till PPP fitted:D:D LOL

Tony

Ps checking the Lotto ticket in five minutes:D

ChrisS/P1 24 August 2002 08:27 PM

Heard someone say on here, that Prodrive are mucking around with the RA spec C to produce something call the P2.

Is this true, or a windup?

chrisp 24 August 2002 08:44 PM

Another one for the rumour forum I think. When the P1 came out the P2 was suppose be a hot legacy version.

T5NYW 27 August 2002 02:21 AM

Is this what Prodrive are delveloping for the new rumoured P2:D:D If they need a Test Pilot:D:D

Not so keen on the rear spoiler IMHO but as long as it comes with rear washwipe. And of course the clock dimmer switch:eek:
