It's only a few weeks away now until the ultimate Impreza driving event is held on the Isle of Man :)

See www.sidc.co.uk/iom.htm (just recently revised with lots of additional info) for full details.

Depart on Thursday 12th September by ferry or Sea-cat, and arrive on the Isle of Man. Stay in luxury hotels www.mountmurray.com or Hilton for 4 nights, then depart for home again on Monday 16th September (though you can stay on longer if you wish).

On the Thursday evening, we have a welcome reception at the House of Manannan in Peel, with wine and nibbles, including a presentation by the Minister of Tourism (who has himself lapped the TT circuit at an average of 100mph!).

On Friday morning we have a track event at Jurby, or a treasure hunt/Island tour for those not interested in track events.

Friday afternoon is free to explore the Island, and drive on it's fabulous roads (most of which have no speed limits!)

Friday evening we have a BBQ and party night at one of the Isle's best restaurants. Lots of good food and drink to be enjoyed, and a cracking party atmosphere.

Saturday morning sees us drive the TT circuit, with a buffet lunch at one of the many hotels on the Island, before you can continue driving through the afternoon.

Saturday evening is benig left free, so we can all decide on where to go to eat and drink, as a group, or as couples/individuals. Perhaps a romantic dinner for two, or a tour of the Isle's nightlife followed by a session at the Casino perhaps ?

Sunday morning see arguably the best part of the event. The famous mountain section of the TT circuit will be closed, and we shall have exclusive access to drive along it, with no speed cameras or oncoming traffic to worry about :D :D :D

Following the cavalcade and mountain section, there will be a photos call of all cars befoer lunch.

On Sunday evening, we have a grand gala dinner planned at the Hilton in Douglas to round off the formal activities. A final chance to enjoy the Island's relaxed drinking laws (the bar is open until at least 3am every morning!)

Monday mornign - the saddest day of all, when we have to say our goodbyes, and depart for home. You can of course stay on in any of the hotels at our heavily subsidised rates if you wish for as logn as you wish :)

As well as the driving events outlined above, there will also be the chance to parktake in many social activities during the afternoons and evenings, such as golf, fishing, scuba diving, horse riding, bird watching, hillclimbing etc etc etc.

All of this for the amazing price of only £333, which includes your ferry crossing, hotel accommodation, all activities (apart from the optional track event), breakfast every day and many other meals.

Each participant will get a bound road-book of events and maps, and commemorative rally style stickers for their car.

We have over 50 people already booked up (phone Magic Holidays on 08457 585833, or Pam on 01624 619837), for what promises to be the best event of the year!

Counting the days off already!
Double edged sword for Saturday night to balance the amount of drink vs. the need to be up with a clear head for the TT run!
Is anyone else from the South West going?

Not sure about the SW, but I know a few from Scotland who are going, and looking forward to the event :D

The closed roads justify the entire holiday price on it's own :D

Lets face it, many peeps will pay a similar amount (in track fees and insurance) just for a few laps of a race track.

Be there, or be a boring fart ;)

mb (who will be there at the crack of dawn on the Thursday morning)

John

I've now paid my balance and received my ferry tickets.

However myself & ColinT will be taking the relaxed option and the Thursday afternoon ferry from Heysham. Don't understand this getting up at 3am business! ;)

The wife is determined not to miss out and will fly to the IOM from Glasgow on Friday evening.

Cheers, Mark

Mrs C and I are definitely going, it sounds like a real blast!

Exactly how often do you get the opportunity to blast along some of the best roads in the country with the blessing and active co-operation of the Government? :D
