Mark.S 14 July 2001 03:36 PM

Just picked up a set of P-Zero Rosso tyres for my WRX MY01, couldn't see any directional arrows on them. Are they directional? What's the best pressure to run them at? Tyre size 225/40/18.
Cheers,
Mark.

The Pzero Rosso, is available in Asimetrico or Direzionale

the 4wd WRX does need the Asimetrico on all wheels !

The Rosso patern is different from the normal Pzero !

You are confusing the issue. To be accurate, there are actually three P zero's:

P Zero Rosso
P zero Asymmetrico
P zero direzionale

Subaru UK/Prodrive used the P zero asymmetrico on the limited editions/P1 up to 2000 (i.e. on the old model).

From the MY01 WRX they are now using the P zero rosso (on the UK300 so far).

Going back to the original question:
We are running UK300 wheels/tyres (225/40x18 P zero rossos) on Carolyn's WRX so I do know the answer.

The P zero rosso is NOT directional. They are assymetrical so there is an inside and outside.

After consultation with Mike Wood at Prodrive we are running these at 32psi all round.

Don't want to start World War 3, but you are quoting from an American website - Mark lives in England.

They are not the same tyres as supplied in Europe so this is hardly indicative.....

The European ones are those I quoted which are relevant in the UK.

Theo 15 July 2001 07:21 PM

Hi Dave,...Sorry to say again this,...It's in my DUTCH PIrelli folder right in front of me !!!

I only give the link from the U.S. website just because its easier to let you know !!

But I'm not starting a worldwar at this, I just wanted to help,...But you are telling all the time I'm talking bollocks,...but i'm not !!

Do your homework Dave,..and read my last post again ! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

RB5SCOTT 15 July 2001 08:08 PM

Dave, as i've got the same tyres as carolyn i CAN confirm they are asimetrico

Dave T-S 15 July 2001 08:19 PM

Scott
Indeed - well, at least WE know they are.... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

Dave T-S 15 July 2001 08:32 PM

Theo
You are posting the same URL I was quoting from http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

THERE IS ONLY ONE "ROSSO" TYRE ON THAT WEBSITE AND IT IS NOT DIRECTIONAL!!!!!!!!!

LOOK AGAIN - HOW MANY TYRES ON THE WEBSITE HAVE "ROSSO" AGAINST THEM?????????

I AM STANDING LOOKING AT A SET OF P ZERO ROSSOS OUT OF THE WINDOW ON CAROLYN'S CAR. THEY ARE NOT DIRECTIONAL!!!!!!

EVERY WRX UK300 IS FITTED WITH P ZERO ROSSOS - AND THEY ARE NOT DIRECTIONAL!!!!!!!

SCOTT'S CAR HAS THE SAME TYRES - IT IS A UK300. HE'S TOLD YOU THEY ARE NOT DIRECTIONAL.

HOW MANY MORE TIMES DO YOU WANT TELLING!!!!!!

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME THAT THE P ZERO "ROSSO" IS NOT AVAILABLE IN DIRECTIONAL (AND I REALLY DO NOT CARE) - EMAIL PIRELLI UK OR MIKE WOOD AT PRODRIVE (WHO SPECIFIED THE P ZERO ROSSO TYRES FOR THE UK300) AND ASK THEM!!!!!!!

My only comment is -

Shouldn't this be in another forum http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Does the word Direzionale in the small pane on the right not mean what it says then ? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Edited to add another smiley just in case http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I saw that - it's a mistake http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif - remember the website was designed by Italians - I know what they are like - I did work with 10 of them for 5 years...

Dave T-S 15 July 2001 08:51 PM

Dear thread
I'm going off to another forum now.....

When I come back, I hope you aren't here any more.....

RB5SCOTT 15 July 2001 09:47 PM

Its still here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

Dave, i sense some fighting talk http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

SDB 15 July 2001 11:46 PM

hmm

seems to me that this is a valid question as there seems to be some confusion.

Dave
No need to be so agressive, you've been wrong before (who knows.. maybe even about tyres!!!!), why not just discuss it?

regards

Simon

Dave,...I really don't know why you are making all this noise http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

advice:
Look again and don't look to the pictures alone, read the text als on the right please !!

The question of Mark was, are the Pzero Rosso that he has (in 18") aysmet. or direct.

The answer is Asymetr....I never said they weren't

I only tried to say that the Pzero Rosso tires are also in a direct. available,...and as you can read in my second reply ONLY in the size 215/45/17 and 225/45/17 !!

But I think you never read this,...just saying Theo your are wrong,...wich I'm defenitly not !

Because you said there are NO directional tyres in the Pzero Rosso range, ..I thought I let you know ,...There are some !

I have still the same damn brochure in front of me, what it says, and I send you als to links where the Pirelli-info is on,...so you could see !

Also the picture wich I put in my reply's are speaking for themselves

But again,...you never looked good enough overthere !

But the only thing you can say is,....No Theo you are wrong, When I look outside my window I can see the Rosso's on my wife's car, so I'm wright and you are wrong.

and the UK300, and Mike Wood from Prodrive tells me ....bla bla bla .

Maybe you thought that you only know this all,...but there are more people on this scoobyplanet who do there homework.

FYI: I've got also the Pirelli Pzero's asymetr.....and not the comfortable Rosso's
