Hi I have a MY98 with SS back box and ITG air filer (these have been on the car for about 50,000 miles, filter changed 12000 miles ago)

Whilst driving on the motorway in 4th or 5th I have had a total loss of power for a split second, this has happened when ive approached a slower moving car and ive eased off the throttle and then as I re apply the gas i get a lurch from the car for a split second then the car is back to normal running speed, I have tested my theory and it only happen if I plant my foot on the accelerator, if i feed the power in gradually it doesnt happen, I have tried this in 2nd and 3rd as well but the problem only exists in 4th and 5th having looked at other threads my guess is it could be Lanbda related. Is this harming my engine?? (until I get it sorted)
1st problem in 77,000 miles :(

Any of you engine Gurus help me out??

Cheers Dave

Check spark plug gap. This causes the symptom descibed. Getting the sparks out is a bit of a pain tho.
