Just had PI springs fitted to my MY98. It was supposed to lower the car 35mm but it hasn't dropped the car at all. Either the guy i bought it from didn't bother to tell me it had been lowered or the car comes with this suspension as standard!!!

Can anyone verify this??

Also have never seen any springs that go lower than 35mm!!!!! is there no springs that lower it 50mm etc???!!

Would getting 18's make a difference??

cheers.

I believe that the only way to go this low is to fit adjustables ... alot more cash than springs I'm afraid.

adroy 13 August 2002 10:24 AM

Yeah thats what i thought.

cheers for the info.

I believe MRT in Oz sell -50mm springs. Do bear in mind that springs take a little while to settle into their ride height... but PI aren't that great.

Don't suppose you know of a web address??

Anyway thanks for the help.

IMVHO Don't lower it more than 2,5-3 cm otherwise you should buy new dampers to cope with the very low springs, the standard shocks can't work as it would when lowered too much.

FASTER MIKE!! 13 August 2002 10:06 PM

i think H&R lower the car 50mm probably cheaper than the mrt ones

Wouldn't the P1 springs be matched to the P1 (I think STI)dampers? and aren't these the same as the STI V damper/spring set-up?

Isn't there also a point when the damper will be too long for shorter springs?

Does anyone know how low the Avo Evolution kit lowers your car???

Is it about 4 inches??? I know its adjustable, just wondering how low it acutally goes.

Just placed my order for them so lets hope they go low!!!

m18use 18 August 2002 10:27 PM

Had PI springs on my scoob when I got it. They only lasted a week before I changed them. The car was very low (35mm lower than std, as I measured it before and after...)

The handling was OK, but not special with the PI springs - much better when I replaced them with standard 96 WRX springs, and I didn't catch the front splitter on things :)

Will be looking for some P1 or STI4/5 springs, dampers and rollbars in a couple of months I think.

Hope this helps....on AVOs, set up for handling, ie, NOT at their lowest setting ! :D
