Just saw a Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 wagon, Ralliart badge on the back.

What's a Legnum then? The Jap name for a Galant?

Bet there aren't many of these around. Looked useful though...

Dogmaul

here you go :p

The Eunos Cosmo from Mazda, it was sold only in Japan and in the USA. As engine the rotary 20B was inserted. Chamber volume 3x654ccm, twin turbos. Engine performance 280PS, max torque 402Nm.
The Eunos Cosmo was built between 1990-1995. It was derived from the Mazda Mx-03.

Eunos is a name for a range of cars -- MX-5 is the Eunos Roadster. Eunoses don't have a Mazda badge (wings in a square) but one that looks a bit like the old Pioneer logo.

Skyline is also a name for a range of cars -- there are 4 doors, non-turbo, 2.5s, etc.

Eunos Cosmo is a Japan-only coupe based on the 929/Sentia floorplan (so it isn't small). It's RWD (not 4WD) & has 2 engine options - the twin-rotor turbo engine that came out of the FD3S RX-7, & the triple-rotor turbo engine which is unique to the Cosmo. Don't remember the power of the twin-rotor engine (I think abt 250ps-ish), but the triple-rotor has 280ps.
Styling of the Cosmo is nothing to write home abt, & the interior is loaded with gadgets.
As well as the Cosmo & Roadster, Mazda also sold the Xedos 6 & 9 as the Eunos 500 & 800 in Japan. The Mazda MX-3 is also sold as a Eunos in Japan, in fact, it is fashionable for the Japanese then to market the same car under many different names. Mazda at that time has 4 brandnames under it's umbrella - Mazda, Autozam, Eunos & Enfini.
The Legnum is just the name for JDM Galant Estates. Mitsubishi did make a Galant with a 2.0 MIVEC engine that came out from the FTO, it has 200ps & it's produced between 1997 to 2000. That car was called the VR-M & AFAIK, it was specially produced for HK/Macau/Singapore markets.

Just to add that Mazda at that time tried to emulate what Nissan, Toyota & Honda has done in the US, they tried to market different range cars under different brandnames. So, instead of Lexus (Toyota), Infiniti (Nissan) & Acura (Honda), they had Mazda (bread & butter cars & commercials), Eunos (luxury cars), Enfini (sports cars) & Autozam (K cars).
What's interesting is this is a Japan-only strategy for Mazda, whereas Nissan, Honda & Toyota used this strategy exclusively for export markets.
