Anyone had the same problem??? I had my 45k service and cambelt change the other day (MY99 Turbo 4dr) and when I picked it up I noticed the car was vibrating slightly. It does this when standing at junctions and especially when, after slightly blipping the throttle, the revs are dropping around the 1500rpm mark - at this point it rocks quite badly really. It vibrates through the driver's seat but the whole car is rocking around. After getting the bonnet up when I got home the engine is rocking side to side quite badly, something it has never done before. I took it back in to the garage saturday am but they couldn't find anything 'obviously' wrong although the mechanic did say something is not right ... it's going back in for the day in a week or so.

Has anyone else found this to be a problem or can anyone shed any light on this problem??

Cheers
Phil

Sounds to me like the engine mountings may be worn, although i don`t know why the dealer could not find this out, can`t think of what else it could be. Hope this helps

could be cambelt out if it was ok before it went in, is it a missfire or just rocking badly

i had my engine rocking at idle, and when i done a compression test, it had no compression in one cylinder due to damaged piston.
rocked quite bad.

realise that is damn helpful to you  ;)

Dan - nothing was wrong with the cambelt, it is supposed (well recommended, pretty vital when selling on) to be changed at the 45k service. The rocking is fine at idle again now, rock solid in fact that's why I knew there was something wrong when I picked it up from the garage at the first junction I came to. It was quite bad, especially the vibration up through the driver's seat and when the revs were dropping whilst standing between 1500-1000rpm.

Cheers
Phil :)
