Anyway nice to meet everyone Mark, Tim W, Plantie, Nito, Janey, Buzz, JohnH, John Felstead, David Wallis, etc etc..

It really makes me feel good that all you guys out there that know what you are doing with regards to these motors, are so open and friendly towards fellow scoob owners who are quite clearly in a different league to yourselves.

Your advice and suggestions have been taken on board........ ...thankyou for a wonderful and entertaining day:D

Christ those skylines are quick! Do you see the silver one give the black rx7 and 1 second start and then promptly sh*t on it as he changed into 3rd. Wicked, he was the one that cracked 200mph.

I managed to get a reasonable shot of Mark's third run which i think he did in 13.45. Imprezive! for 500m.

It was a really good day, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Great to meet up with the usual suspects - Slider, Michelle, IanC, Mossman, Rum, Puff, Rich Wild and missus, YorkshireSimon and crew and good to finally meet other netters and put faces to names - TimW, R19ket, Jamie Whitfield, Plantie, Buzz, David Wallis, Avi and mates, RB5Scott, the list goes on - sorry if I have forgotten anyone.

Really good day, and I would like to get the MR2 on the next one - I am sure it would surprise a few of yesterdays competitors, especially the Supra's. :)

Was nice to see it finally run, and hope you get the hesitation sorted.

oh and cheers for the umbrella :D

WOuld have liked to have seen the vipers in action :)

RaZe-=Buzz=- 04 August 2002 06:51 PM

they were noisy...two of them were SILLY loud :D

And none of them blew up. No scoobs blew up. 1 Focus ate the gear box and left him with 3rd only to drive home in, and an Evo spat its rear diff (mashed the casing!) after about 5 feet, and a Cossie Sierra went pop and moved no more...until it got onto the low looader :D

Apart from that a Red Supra span on the last bend of the handling course and destroyed some rather expensive TV kit (£50,000 I heard, but you know what people are like)..

The Rover 620 Turbo was slow. The MG Maestro turbo was faster. Some Fiestas went surprisinly well...

John Felstead NAILED a Viper off the start line and was well away...until the V10 got up to speed and went a bit fast...

The Sklines were amazing and appeared unburstable - sit it on the loimiter and dump it, and change up when it STAYS on the limiter in first - apparently one touched 200mph for the top speed run.

On Porsche Carrera 2 was there, and seemed very rapid....

OK, someone else take over, Im getting cramp :D

jonny gav 04 August 2002 10:00 PM

well no-one would have known it was marks if you hadn't opened your big trap would they!!!

to make things worse you even put his scoobynet name on too!!!

Simon220 04 August 2002 11:34 PM

The Maestro turbo actually beat every Subaru there apart from one Mark Aigin's 400bhp 13.45 @ 126mph

Not bad for a 330bhp FWD car.
He actually kept level with the 700bhp 4wd Skyline for the first 100 metres or so.

Overall Shootout Winner 2wd vs 4wd
Ronnie Skyline R33 12.41s 140mph bt Andy Nicholls Maestro turbo 14.16s 118mph

The "slow" 600 did 152mph on the top speed run. not bad for only 1.3 miles. 2nd in FWD class.

Guys,

Don't worry about posting pic's of my engine bay, that was before one or two magazines snuck a few shots, so it's a bit late to worry about a few on SN.

Had a great day, even if Pat, and I were still mapping between the 3 runs. I was pretty pleased, since I only collected the car late Fri', and we finished fixing a few basics 8pm Sat night

It was good to put some faces, to names, and share an umbrella, or two........

Chris, well done, a great event.

Mark.

harvey 05 August 2002 01:39 AM

The engine bay above is NOT R19 KET.Just keep wondering.!!!

RaZe-=Buzz=- 05 August 2002 07:08 AM

"slow" off the line was what I meant for for the Rover - we couldnt see anything else - and it's only comparative to the blasting beasties he was facing. But the maestro WAS faster :D

Later on he was nailing it though :D and getting away better.

Buzz :D

Geoff P 05 August 2002 08:35 AM

Harvey - its not a certain RA V limited by any chance is it?

Dream Weaver 05 August 2002 08:41 AM

The engine shot is from the mad looking silver scoob above with the big wing on the back. It had a massive sound system as well, and you certainly would NOT argue with it's owner as well!!!

Cant see him ever being car jacked to be honest :)
