I've been running 9psi on mine for the last 25000 miles without problems.. Well other than the stupid hot wire MAFS dieing, but that's just a stupid MY99 thing http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif FHI Cheapskates http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

Now, the 01 with MAP is a different question and you'll probably need to go to an after market ECU such as the TEC II check

It's a shame that the 2.5RS wasn't marketed here... I'm sure that it could be a good basis for a monster engine!.

Alex,

So what's stopping you importing one? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I suspect Moray is referring to the engine http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif , can't think why......

I would say that I am certain that moray is referring to the engine and not the car.

but then alex, you have to consider, that the block was designed to accomodate a power output of 166bhp, whereas the 2.0 engines, particuly were derived from engines which in the early years were expected to produce in excess of 400bhp, before the introduction of restrictors, and so with this in mind, the blocks were made sufficiently strong, and oil pathways and water jackets designed with the intention of dispersing the heat generate by a turbo charged motor producing this sort of power.

despite all this, there are 2.5s in the us, running plenty of power, with a low failure rate.

thanks guys so that means i would just have to buy turbo, intercooler, boost controller, ECU, and new fuel injectors (and possibly cold spark plugs if it misfires b/c of running to hot)

also could u guys suggest any turbos for impreza engines ?
