Hello everybody

A few days ago I purchased a Possum Link ECU.
(second hand, but never used, seller said).

After retired the original one and fitted the Link, I was not able to start the engine; this is, the engine cranks but does not start.

I`d like to have advises from someone with knowledgment concerning this matter, as I`m
confused and worried after reading the Link manual a lot and feeling unable to solve the problem alone.

my car has the following modifications, previously done:

a pipercross forced induction,
a superprint exhaust line w/o cats,
a IHI VF22 turbocharger

thanks in advance for your cooperation.

best regards

to ferreira

ps. the Link is unlocked.

To, you do not say what year and model scoob you have?

This would help the people that might be able to help you.

HI ,
YOU JUST HAVE TO WONDER WHY ITS SECONDHAND. I HOPE THAT EXPLAINS PART OF THE REASON .

Check the section on the "imobiliser" dip switches. Make sure they are set correctly for your car. Then try again.

Had my LINK fitted by Bob Rawle and Branco (STI 5) They had problem at first as the immobilizer must be off. Once this was overcome the mapping went fine. Cold strt was a pig and the neigbours didn't not approve of a 3 foot flame and a large bang coming from the exhaust at the enginec vfired up, It was tweaked a week later and has been easily the best mod done to the car.

Hi

sorry but I forgot to state some bits:

1- my car is a MY99 and the Link issue date is FEB01.
2- the Link appears to be new, in fact.
3-dip switces are in acordance with the Link manual for a car with imobiliser.

thanks to all of you

best regards

Make sure you hear the fuel pump stop running after turning on the ignition and before you try to actually start the car. If not the engine will turn over for ages before firing.
