Please let yourselves known if you'd be interested to get in touch.

I am getting a MY00 next month and it would be great to meet some local fellow Scoobers, especially if you've got an SS exhaust - I am very curious to hear it in action.

MIP 01 February 2000 06:30 PM

Sounds like a good idea. How about a mini-meet one Sunday morning - like Sunday 6th, 11.00am, by the gates to Richmond Park at the top of Richmond Hill?

(Being Mr Decisive tonight).

Andy Hamilton 01 February 2000 09:16 PM

Hi

I live in Richmond (Church Road)

Dave:
A meet at the top of the hill sounds good -
just up the road :-)

I live in SW London. MY98 with Magnex backbox and K&N filter. It might be interesting to do a compare of the Magnex against the Scoobysport, both from inside and outside the car.

I'd be up for a mini-meet at Richmond Park. Might it be better to meet at one of the car parks? There's not much room by the gates. The car parks get pretty busy but it should be OK at 11. The one by Isabella Plantation is the largest. We can make some noise for a while then maybe rumble round in convoy and scare some deer http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif.

Guys,

Great to see there's quite a few of us in the area!

Dave T - excellent idea about the mini-meet!

Sounds like most people can't make it on the 6th but can on the 20th (?). I've re-posted the mini-meet proposal in the "Events" section of this BB (there's fewer topics there so less chance for our topic to get lost).

Please post (ON THE EVENTS BOARD) your prefered dates / times as well as suggestions re: location (if you know something better than Richmond Park, i.e. less police and speed traps)

Hope to see you all soon!

PS. If we meet before 1 March (my MY00 delivery date) I'll have to come Scooby-less in my old company's BMer. Hope I'll be pardoned http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Steve Prockter 02 February 2000 12:46 AM

I would be interested in a meet on Sunday 6th or other times to suit, and live about 5 miles away (Hampton).

On the subject of speeding in Richmond Park, I do find it rediculous that the vast majority of drivers seem to drive bang on 30 mph (or frequently less). Inevitably this causes trains of crawling traffic, and other drivers seem to get really upset if you overtake. However those very same “crawlers” leaving the park onto residential streets speed up to 40/50 mph. I try and adopt the opposite policy and speed through the park, and try and slow down on residential streets where playing kids, coppers, and other obstructions are less easy to see. After all there is bugger all to hit in Richmond Park apart from deer, and a few less of those would simply do the wardens a favour in the culling season. Wouldn’t the police be better setting speed traps where the real threat to human life exists?

Sorry about the sidetrack but moving on….. quite a few have posted here about exhaust notes, I can add the song of Prodrive exhaust pipe for further comparison.

Look forward to a potential of a meet sometime.

Steve

I also am abroad on the 6th.

How about same time same place on the 13th ?

I should have my new wheels by then too...

Hi, I'm in Kingston and have a Mongoose system but I can't meet this Sunday (family commitments) or next (MIRA wet handling track) but can do so on the 20th!

Cheers, Rich.

Anyone else in Kingston? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Bajie 02 February 2000 09:35 AM

20th is Santa Pod day.
Anyone want to convoy?
You can hear a whole bunch of Scoobies all in a different state of tune.

Alan 02 February 2000 11:22 AM

I'll be in the Roehampton Gate car park on Sunday 6th from about 8am - 10am. Going running!

Happy to join up on the 13th, with a Std '96 Wagon.

Be very careful driving in Richmond park. Well it is a park for a start, but also the Wardens have their own policies re speeding etc. Sunday am they always have speedtraps out. Lets not get a bad image with all these exhausts to try out.

spence 02 February 2000 01:52 PM

I've got a Hyper Muffler on mine... can I play too? 20th is good for me...

Phils 02 February 2000 02:21 PM

I'm 10 mins from Richmond, Scoobysport box and ITG filter. Anyone with a Possum link attending.

What day/time/location.

Andy Tang 02 February 2000 02:32 PM

How about meeting in Bushy Park? There's more parking, less places for people to get lost, and the although there is a Police presence there, it's not quite as bad as Richmond Park!! Just an idea!

I live in Surrey (about 8 miles from Richmond), although not a new car, you can see (and hear) what an old car can do!

MY97, Green, ScoobySport Backbox & Downpipe, K&N 57i air inductor, clear side indicator lenses, air con, leather, Prodrive suspension and quick shift. (Oh and a little bit of stereo!!!!)

Although if the meet is this Sunday, it will mean lots of cleaning this weekend!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Cheers
Andy

Bajie 02 February 2000 02:49 PM

Hyper Muffler ... Back boxes ... Possums ... PAH !!!!
I've got a Blue Scooby on my nyumber plate.
Guaranteed 15bhp increase.

boltona 02 February 2000 04:31 PM

I live in Kingston about 20 feet from Richmond park wall, and I have a Scoobysport backbox and centre section.

Only they are on an Evo so may not be so much use to you http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif.

Would come along to a meet if I am around though. Problem with Richmond park might be police - they tend to patrol pretty regularly. The car parks fill up pretty quick at weekends too, depending on the weather.

Andrew

Andy Tang 02 February 2000 04:51 PM

That's why I suggested Bushy Park!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif Or is that a bad suggestion, as you'd have to use more petrol to get there! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Normally quiet on a old, wet weekend!!! No need to fight for parking spaces!!!

DavidG 02 February 2000 06:34 PM

I don't think police would be a problem. All we would be doing is meeting up in the car park looking at cars and listening to exhausts. That's not illegal yet. If we drove in convoy around the park we wouldn't speed (chance would be a fine thing http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif ). If we wanted to have a blast afterwards we could maybe head down the A3 and go to Newlands Corner and the roads around there.
