I just imported a 95 WRX direct from japan after always wanting to own one I picked it up from Southampton on Wednesday and had to tow it back due to it not being registerted. So I got up up bright and early on Thursday and rushed upto to the local DVLA to get it registered so I can finally get to drive when they tell me I need an MOT for it, so I think no proble a small oversight and a set back of about 2 hours and then I can play, after getting it MOT'd I rush back up there and hand in all the paper work and wait all excited for my new registration, then they say ok everything here is fine, once your VIN number is checked with interpol we will issue your registration and it should only take about 3 - 5 working days :(

So now I have a nice shiney Scooby on my drive and all I can do is polish it and rev the engine on my drive :( :( :(

Hah - reminds me when I bought a 950cc Fiesta a month before I passed my test. I spent weekends cleaning it and reversing it up and down the driveway..

Oh dear, why dont you investigate the 'legal' side of it, like you have all the documents to prove its identity so are you not allowed to drive it?

It is illegal to drive any motor vehicle with Registration Plates and a Valid Taz Disc (which I have paid for but can't have til I get a Reg issued)

Besides all the import paperwork, MOT, SVA certificate, Jap Log Books and my Insurance Cert, are kept be the DVLA until the car is fully checked out :(
