some notable ones for me....
1.i beat a 69 camero off the line up to speed limit (40 mph)
2. i didn't even let this 911 turbo know that i was gona floor it...but i just floored it and took off and he just stayed along side me and then speed off after a split second.... i was like damn he didn't even know i was racing him and he kicked my ass. Well watcha gona do against a 128,000 dollar car =)
3. I've also beat my friend's firebird in a small windy road cuz....oh no he couldn't handle the curves http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I live in England, your message was posted at 08:05 am Sunday 17/6/01.

A lot of people on here are from England, so your eveing time is in the middle of the night here.

I beat a claped out Datsun Cherrie off the lights coming to work this morning, but he was going for it, he eventualy flew past me doing nearly 40, on the wrong sided of the road, laugh, I nearly p155ed myself.

No I was not racing before you ask.

Be careful about this thread or you might end up being prosecuted !

If you talk about racing on the highway even up to the speed limit you are looking forward to a ban if the info gets reported. Even if it was more than six months ago, the NIP period starts from the time at which the offence first came to the notice of the Police and they view such activities in a very serious light.

This might not be what you want to hear and is not intended to be condecending or clever in any way but you have been given good advice old boy.. Think about it please!

Not a drag race exactly, but I took a brand new model Ferrari the other day. Just so I could say I had done it.

I had this dream the other day in which I raced a standard looking UK scoob through some roundabouts, he whipped me round the corners but I kept getting past inbetween http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I had a blast with a red Scooby on the way back from York Raceway today. Was fun down a mix of windy country roads with longish straights. I dont know if he was trying round the twisties (I left him for dead out of a tight 2nd gear corner, back end sliding a bit but, hey http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif ) but he didnt stand a chance on the straights http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif And when he turned off I noticed that the car had been knocked into low boost at some point! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Scoobys, pah http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

*Within* the speed limit a chap in a D-plate Volvo 240 saloon once tried to be a challenge: watching a fishtailing Volvo at 7.30am on the way into work is most amusing http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Tried racing this, guess who won?.....not me!

Col, do you have the headlamp conversion.
If you do, I saw yooooooo today!

Col 18 June 2001 04:53 PM

No offence Ork but the only thing you know about my car is that it is red! there is more than one red impreza in Scotland! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Well Col
Racing on the A9, I hope you have plenty space on your license for new points if you keep doing that http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

ork 19 June 2001 11:53 AM

Eye Col,

thats why I was asking if it had the headlight conversion!?

Col 19 June 2001 06:48 PM

No headlamp conversion Ork.
Murray, I only had a little blast with him on the dual carriageway before i took the pic, you can hardly drive over 50 on the A9 at the moment because of all the bloody tourists dawdling along. Never mind, there are plenty of back roads around here that arent policed much. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

raced a polite young man in a 96 spec WRX at Anglesey Race Circuit last Friday, close but the old Sierra Coswoof had the edge....overtook him on the pit straight http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif.

I had previously been a little in awe of these pesky import imprezas, not now http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif.

Mike@PD,

Can our "boys in blue" really instigate international extradition procedures with the united states authorities based on such evidence? I suppose an airmailed NIP would be a start... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

yea i kinda figured out what time it was in england when my friend who is over there for vacation imed me through AIM and said it was 9am and it was 3 am here =P
i was like dude ur up at 9 am wow =0

ne-ways
i saw the most F***ed up BMW yesterday

Sorry i don't have a pic of it but ive been scouring the internet for the past 2 hours trying to find one and finnaly gave up

but the m3 was lowered to the ground with about 1-2 inches of clearance a racing spoiler on the back(ya know those ones with the tiny metal bars holding it on and huge slanting piece of metal for the spoiler)
it had the blower sticking outa teh hood and had BMP and Graffix racing stuff all over it
and it had these little thigns that looked like fins sticking out of the front under the lights that kidna looked like

\_|Car|_/ <---fin thingy about 3 or so inches big

i followed the guy around for like 10 minutes laughing at the car (although it would kick my ass) then a friend from school with a forumla firebird drove up and i was just waiting for them to race but they never did (i was disapointed)

i just had to tell someone

snipes 21 June 2001 07:07 AM

highly doubt any US cops would be smart enough to be on a UK scoobie forum...and still couldn't do crap about it

im not sure about u guys but here in the states evidence on the internet in post forum is not reliable (ie u could say i was lying i made it up and they couldn't do jack)

Re "the only thing you know about my car is that it is red!"

Also from the look of the bonnet vents it is a 94-96 model (ie pre 97 facelift)

Stephen
MY94 red, with same bonnet vents !

You must let me know where your own private airfield is, I could do with borrowing it some time http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
As far as the moral victory bit - who cares what type of victory it was it won http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif (and has a better bonnet badge) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

bren simpson 23 June 2001 12:35 AM

Ah yeah it might have won but who do you think was the happier at the end of it, Mr "can only just beat a Sierra" Ferrari or Mr "nearly as quick as a mega bucks car" Sierra?

And Im safe in the knowledge that Ive a set of greys in my kitchen cupboard and that if I fitted them along with a suitable chip (maximum cost £300) then Id have an 11 year old Sierra that would be as fast (and possibly just a little faster) as the Ferrari http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

bren simpson 23 June 2001 10:59 AM

I had a go with a Ferrari 360 Modena last night on my private airfield. He sat behind me as I waited for a car to get out of my way and we both planted it. He sat right up my bum (Ive a rwd Sapp Cossy running 22psi, 300+bhp) and got upto 120ish and moved over, expecting him to blast off into the disance. Imagine my suprise when he only slowly started to pull away http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I think he was just slightly pi55ed off with his mega exspensive super car only just beating a 10 year old Sierra as he wouldnt even look at us at the next junction!!! LOL

And before anyone says it, he WAS trying as his car was making a right racket as he came past us http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Actual victory to Ferrari, moral victory definately goes to Cossy!

Bren
