Originally posted in 'General Technical', but hoping for a few more responses before I service date:

Having started on the 7.5k / 6 mth intervals in my MY01, I am now due to switch to the 10k / 12 mth intervals. Having had services at 6 mths (6k), then 12 mths (7.4k), I am now 8 mths & 10k further down the line. Dealer recommends 20k service, costing about £205. Booked in for next week.

This all sounds about right to me, but just want to double-check with you guys. Also I am interested as to how others made the switch, & if you got your new Service book promptly & properley stamped.

Why don't you continue with the 7500 intervals?

It may make your car easier to sell when that time comes round. If there are two similair mileage cars and one has better service intervals, I know which I would choose.

If your last service was at 7.4k. Your next service should be at
17.4k.

So they tell me anyway.

That's what I'm doing, Gamm.

If you took Davyboy's argument to its logical conclusion, car owners of all varieties would be having services done sooner & sooner than the manufacturer's recommendations just to make their car more saleable at a future date.

I have a euro import and have kept to the manufacturers schedule. Only UK imprezas get serviced every 10,000.

I would think it a good idea to change oil a bit more often.

IMHO of course.
